com.spaceroach.flickaround | Platform: Android (Google Play) | Contact: privacy@spaceroachvr.comFlick Around & Find Out ("the Game") is a free-to-play Android game developed by Roach Digital Media, the solo studio behind SpaceRoachVR ("we," "us," "our"). This policy describes exactly what the Game collects, which third parties process it, and the controls you have.
This policy applies to the Game on Android and to support correspondence with us. By downloading or playing the Game, you agree to it.
1. What the Game Collects
1.1 Information You Give Us Directly
The Game requires no account and no sign-up. The only way we receive personal information directly is if you email us for support, in which case we receive whatever you choose to send, typically your email address and a description of the problem.
1.2 Data Stored On Your Device
Your progress and preferences are written to the app's private storage on your device. This includes:
- Levels completed, stars earned, high scores, and chapter progress
- Unlocked booger types, skins, and trails
- Achievement and statistics tracking
- Sound, music, and vibration settings
- Whether you own an ad-free or cosmetic entitlement
This data is never transmitted to us. We operate no game servers and no account database. You can erase all of it at any time via Settings → Reset Progress, or by uninstalling the Game.
Two optional Google features can copy this same save data off your device: Android Auto Backup (Section 1.3) and Google Play Games cloud save (Section 1.6). Both store it in your own Google account, and neither gives us access to it.
1.3 Android Auto Backup
The Game has Android's standard Auto Backup enabled. If backup is turned on in your device settings, Android may copy your save file to your own Google Drive account, so your progress survives a reinstall or a new phone. This backup is managed entirely by Android and Google. It is stored against your Google account, counts against nothing in your Drive quota, and we cannot read, access, or restore it. You can disable it in Android Settings → Google → Backup.
1.4 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)
The Game is free and ad-supported. We display banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads through Google AdMob. AdMob independently collects:
- Android Advertising ID: a resettable, non-permanent identifier
- IP address: used to infer approximate country/region and to serve region-appropriate ads
- Device and app information: model, OS version, app version
- Ad interaction data: impressions, clicks, and rewarded-video completions
We receive only aggregate, anonymous revenue and performance reporting from AdMob. We never receive your Advertising ID, and we do not store it ourselves. See Section 3 for your consent choices.
1.5 Crash & Diagnostic Data (Firebase Crashlytics)
The Game uses Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes and unhandled errors automatically so we can fix them. When the Game crashes or hits a JavaScript error, Crashlytics may transmit:
- Stack trace and exception details
- Device model, manufacturer, OS version, available memory, and orientation
- App version and how long the session had been running
- A Crashlytics installation UUID: a random per-install identifier used to group repeat crashes. It is not your Advertising ID and does not identify you personally.
- Custom diagnostic keys our app attaches, limited to technical error context (the JavaScript error message, stack, and the code path that raised it)
Crash reports are technical only. They contain no name, email, location, or gameplay history. Uninstalling the Game stops all crash reporting.
1.6 Google Play Games Services (Optional)
Signing in with Google Play Games is optional, and the Game is fully playable without it. If you do sign in, two things happen:
- Leaderboards: the Game submits your scores to Google Play Games leaderboards using the Play Games player ID and display name that Google provides
- Cloud save: the Game writes your progress to Google Play Games Saved Games, so you can continue on another device. The saved data is the same progress described in Section 1.2 (levels, stars, scores, unlocks, settings). It is stored in your Play Games account, not on any server we control, and we cannot read it.
We do not create player profiles, collect your email address, or store leaderboard or save data ourselves. Google Play Games Services holds all of it. You can manage or delete Play Games data for this Game from the Play Games settings in your Google account.
1.7 In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)
The Game offers optional one-time purchases, including individual cosmetic booger packs and Premium Booger Lab + No Ads (product ID booger_lab_ad_free_forever), which unlocks every current and future Booger Lab cosmetic and permanently removes ads.
All purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment card, billing address, or Google account details. The Game receives only a purchase token, order ID, product ID, and purchase state, which it uses locally to unlock what you bought.
1.8 In-App Updates
The Game uses Google Play's in-app update API to check whether a newer version is available and prompt you to install it. This check is handled by Google Play Services and shares your app version and device details with Google Play in the same way the Play Store itself does.
1.9 What the Game Does NOT Collect
We want to be specific here, because vague privacy policies tend to over-claim in both directions. The Game contains no analytics SDK of any kind. It does not collect:
- Gameplay telemetry: no session length, level attempt, retry, or feature-usage tracking
- Your name, email address, phone number, or date of birth
- GPS or precise location (the Game requests no location permission)
- Contacts, photos, camera, microphone, files, or SMS (none of these permissions are requested)
- Any behavioral profile, cross-app tracking, or data broker enrichment
The Game declares exactly three Android permissions: INTERNET (ads, crash reports, leaderboards), com.android.vending.BILLING (in-app purchases), and com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID (required by AdMob on Android 13+).
2. How This Data Is Used
- Run and save the Game: store your progress locally, apply settings, unlock content
- Keep the Game free: serve ads through AdMob
- Fix crashes: diagnose and repair errors reported through Crashlytics
- Run leaderboards: submit scores to Google Play Games when you sign in
- Honor purchases: verify entitlements and unlock what you paid for
- Provide support: answer your emails
- Meet legal obligations: respond to lawful requests and prevent fraud
We do not use your data for profiling, automated decision-making with legal effects, or any purpose unrelated to running the Game. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
3. Ad Consent & Your Choices
The Game integrates Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). On first launch, the Game asks Google whether a consent form is required for your region. If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland (or anywhere else Google determines consent is required), a consent form is presented before any ads load, and your choice determines whether AdMob serves personalized or non-personalized ads.
- Change your consent later: a privacy options entry is available through the consent framework where your region requires one
- Reset your Advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Reset advertising ID
- Delete your Advertising ID entirely: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (Android 12+ lets you remove it, after which apps receive a string of zeros)
- Opt out of personalized ads account-wide: Google Ad Settings
- Remove ads permanently: purchase Premium Booger Lab + No Ads
4. Third-Party Services
Every third party the Game talks to is listed below. There are no others. We do not sell your personal information to any of them or to anyone else.
Google AdMob
Purpose: Serves banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads
Data: Android Advertising ID, IP address, device info, ad interactions
Firebase Crashlytics
Purpose: Automatic crash and error reporting so we can fix bugs
Data: Crash stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, a Crashlytics installation identifier, and the JavaScript error context our app attaches
Google Play Billing
Purpose: Processes optional one-time in-app purchases
Data: Purchase token, order ID, product ID, purchase state
Google Play Games Services
Purpose: Optional sign-in for leaderboards and cloud save
Data: Play Games player ID, display name, submitted scores, and your synced save file
Google Play Services & Play Store
Purpose: App distribution, in-app update prompts, Android Auto Backup
Data: Device and installation data, backed-up save file
5. Storage, Security & Retention
5.1 Where Data Lives
We host no servers and maintain no database of players. Your save data is on your device (and, if you have Android backup enabled, in your own Google Drive). Everything else is held by Google under their own policies and retention schedules.
5.2 Security
Because we store nothing centrally, there is no player database for anyone to breach. Data in transit to Google services is encrypted via HTTPS. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data handled by third parties.
5.3 Retention
- Local save data: until you reset progress or uninstall
- Android Auto Backup: retained by Google; deleted per Google's policy after the app is uninstalled for an extended period
- Crash reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics, typically up to 90 days
- Ad data: retained by Google per their policies
- Leaderboard scores and cloud saves: retained by Google Play Games Services until you delete them from your Google account
- Purchase records: retained by Google Play per their terms
- Support emails: kept only as long as needed to resolve your issue, then deleted
6. Children's Privacy
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
- No account creation is required, so no child provides us with personal information in the ordinary course of play
- Because the Game is a general-audience app, AdMob may serve personalized ads subject to the consent rules in Section 3
Parents and guardians: if you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, email privacy@spaceroachvr.com and we will delete it promptly. You can also use Google Family Link to manage purchases and app access.
7. Your Privacy Rights
7.1 Deleting Your Data
Because we hold no personal data ourselves, deletion is largely in your hands and is immediate:
- Game progress: Settings → Reset Progress, or uninstall the Game
- Cloud backup: Android Settings → Google → Backup to disable or delete
- Advertising ID: reset or delete it in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads
- Play Games data (leaderboard scores and cloud saves): managed through your Google account and the Play Games app
For anything else, email privacy@spaceroachvr.com. We respond within 30 days.
7.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not process sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics. To exercise any right, email privacy@spaceroachvr.com. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
7.3 EEA / UK Residents (GDPR & UK GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to processing. Our lawful bases are: consent for personalized advertising (collected via the UMP form described in Section 3), and legitimate interests for crash diagnostics and security, which are necessary to keep the Game functional.
You may withdraw consent at any time through your device ad settings or the consent form, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact: privacy@spaceroachvr.com.
7.4 Do Not Track
The Game is not a web browser and does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Use the device-level controls in Section 3 instead. They are enforced by Android and are considerably more effective.
8. International Data Transfers
Google processes data in the United States and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses and its own certifications. We do not transfer data ourselves, because we do not receive it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy whenever the Game's data practices change. When we do, the "Last Updated" date changes, material changes are noted in the Play Store release notes, and continued play constitutes acceptance.
